it's always a good sign when i don't post that i have dropped the ball. and i did realize that starting right before christmas would be a challenge - anyway back on it and hope to nail it today. just got to get this done.

droped again, no surprise - again not a perfect day but close... on tract today and down 8.5 after day 2, again need to lose 15 week one. 6.5 to go :)

did good yesterday (not perfect) but good... lost 5.5 - need to be 100% on it today. the goal is down 15 by next friday, i wish me well :D

274 :(

well - sadly i have gained back much of the weight i lost this year. hard to admit this but - oh well, posting here helps me to get on track so i must. i'm going to give it my all again and i've learned a hard lesson (i hope). i was actually down to 227.5. i got stuck there - stayed there for almost 2 weeks and this really killed me. i was totally on the diet and lost nothing. i realize now - ha, would have been happy to just maintain that. instead gained back almost 50... in just 7 months, scary. i'm determined to get it started today, day one 274, if all goes well i'll lose 15 by next friday - that's the goal. i'm back though - and on it!

on track again :) 232 this morning, i'll be at 228.5 by next tuesday. and two weeks from then, back in the teens, which is to say back to my pre-africa weight :) in a couple more weeks after that point (5 weeks from today) i'll be back to my goal weight. i'll seek the skin removal surgery at that point. hope insurance will approve.

back again, after a weeks lapse, this works it's just tuff to get on, i've been pretty solid now for the last week. actually stricter then i normally require - i'm just trying hard to get back on track, then i'll move to the 500 calorie approach. i was hoping to be down to 233.5 by sometime today. i'm 2.5 pounds away right now. i'm going to stay strict till i reach the 233.5 point. then back to my standard.

back on it 238.5

last week (tuesday) I was at 245.5, finally got back on the diet - droped to 238.5 today. i'm about 7 weeks away from approching the docs here where i work about getting the skin removal surgery... it's suppose to be quite painful, looking forward to it. great to be back in the 230's. by next tuesday i need to lose another 5.

i have had a "few" set-backs - came off the diet, getting back on today. despite that the weight has been going down, hope to be back into the 230's by sometime next week. :)

made goal again - that's a good thing huh? i've lost 40 lbs. in the last 7 weeks, i need to get to 253 by next tuesday... i'll be halfway there.

I find myself without my glasses and no access to them so I really can't work (I was going to continue working on the animations for my film). Might as well do a down200 post instead, I'm way behind on posting. It's going well, I had about 5-6 bad days (where I cheated the diet) and they have essentially put me off target by one week. But at least i know why I'm off. Yesterday I weighed 263 (so I made me goal). The next stop is 258.2. It's working just as expected. 5 pounds a week despite the entire absence of exercise. I was down 35 pounds as of yesterday. it's been 6 weeks on the diet.

I'm on it now... this is way better then last summer, I did lose almost 30 but it was tenuous, never really on it - constantly cheating, not this time. I'm on it with very little temptation and very little cheating. the cheating has been a bag of baby carrots or a little extra soup, not the fall apart sort of cheating as last summer. It's now just a waiting game - a matter of time... and not a lot of time either, if the 5 a week sticks then just 2 months and 2 weeks, and I'll be back to my pre-Africa weight. :)

well i'm pretty happy the first 4 weeks are gone and i lost 26.2 pounds. this is from my poor scale, since i'm at the 4 week mark i think i will head to the DALC today and get a real weigh-in on a decent scale. i'm actually 3.8 pounds short of the "real goal". which was 30 for the first 4 weeks. it's no surprise i've come up short of that, i had 4-5 days of cheating/messing up. i'm past that now. i think the DALC scale may reveal i'm even closer to that goal. i'm happy to be a month into this and solidly on it (more then the loss itself). this diet isn't about suffering (there's a little of that at the start) it's more about time. i think i will catch up on the 3.8 pounds.

on an unrelated note: it snowed yesterday, i got up early to shovel and deal with ice on the jeep and roads. anyway in my new place on main street in kasson we are required to shovel within 24 hours of a snowfall's completion. i shoveled in the morning at 4:00am but it was still snowing. didn't stop until about 10 am. when i got home around 5:30 it had been shoveled again, but poorly - appeared to be done by a brush or something. i redid it again - because who ever did it just made it worse.

the city will charge you if you don't shovel within 24 hours (i shoveled twice within a 10 hour period). this is being posted should who ever shoveled (a third time) still within that time frame, somehow claims i (and my neighbor) had failed to shovel. that is not the case. myself and my next door neighbor have been very diligent and have been doing one-another's sidewalks. could be that the neighbor to the right did both of ours as a courtesy. that's OK - just don't want the city claiming we failed to fulfill their requirements. both sidewalks were done 3x within the required time frame :)

I made it, weighed in at the DALC and was at 278.2. So 2 weeks and I'm down 20 lbs right to the tenth of a pound. So by next Tuesday the goal is to lose another 5 pound and going forward - every week.

yesterdays weigh-in was done at the DALC (so more accurate). i'm getting excited about my weight loss film again - even thought there is so much other stuff to be excited about right now... i think it's going to be great - it's gong to be all the richer for africa and if my weight drops identically (without all the exercise) it could be significant. i'm going to start filming myself again (for down 200), as i go thru this second phase of thew weight loss.

Met the 15 Lbs. Down mark today. Happy about that. This is also day 4 of really being strict. I always get 15 in the first week but I started with not so perfect days. It's been a week and three days. I'm hoping that over the next 4 days I willl lose 5 more pounds and be back on track :)
